The Richmond Munster Minor Hockey Association (RMMHA) is a volunteer run association that coordinates and manages the activities of approximately 310 minor hockey players, ranging from ages 4 up, in the villages of Richmond and Munster - located 20 km southwest of Ottawa. Approximately 35 of these players are in the Competitive League, 215 are in House League, and 50 are in Hockey Development (also called Initiation). The RMMHA is part of the Ottawa District Minor Hockey Association (ODMHA) and has a unique role in the hockey world. (click here for more details)
WIth "home" ice in the Richmond Arena and the Goulbourn Rec Centre (the "GRC"), the RMMHA supports over 30 hockey teams in three programs: Hockey Initiation (for boys and girls ages 4 to 7), House League Hockey, and the newly formed Osgoode Rideau and RMMHA competitive alliance (details coming soon), where RMMHA players join players from Manotick, Osgoode and surrounding areas to form competitive teams. All teams are mixed gender with girls-only hockey available in Kanata.
Every 2 years, at the RMMHA annual general meeting, the parent members of the RMMHA elect an executive team to oversee the Association's activities and finances, and to develop policies and programs to support a safe and fun hockey environment. Our association would not function at all without active participation from parents themselves, who give of their time to be coaches, assistant coaches, managers, time keepers, tournament coordinators and fundraisers. The RMMHA has a long history of very active parent volunteers, many of whom continue to volunteer with other hockey associations from the LCMHL to the ODMHA.
