A lasting Silver Stick tribute ... a committee of volunteers under the guidance of Becky Marr Johnson has crafted a "Birthplace of Silver Stick Hockey" logo painting. This Silver Stick themed tribute will hang for many years at our arena, easily visible for all visitors to the rink as they pass through the back hallway, or come on and off the Richmond Arena ice surface.

A special guest came out on the ice the last day before Christmas. Santa had a skate with the Hockey Development kids and then they all had the opportunity to sit on Santa's knee and handed out candy canes .
Many thanks to Santa and his elf who helped arrange the special visit.

Richmond Midget B White is moving on to the Final Round of Play offs!
The Richmond Midget B White is having a very successful year and has just received the LCMHL Regular Season Championship banner. The Midget B White team has won all three of the tournaments they have entered this year; Renfrew in November, our home tournament of Richmond (which they won in an exciting 6th period overtime) in January and Westport in February.
The Midget B White has just completed their first round of play off action undefeated, due to some great team play. Their final opponent in the first round was Carleton Place, who were also undefeated in the play offs - the winner of the game would be moving on!
The team will be attending one more tournament in Oshawa over the March Break and then it is on to the final round of play offs after March Break, where they will face a strong opponent in Osgoode Rideau 2 (who were also undefeated in their pool of play off action). It should be some great hockey! Congratulations and Good Luck to all the players and coaches!

Great team Spirit ???
Coach Roger made a deal with the boys and girls of Novice B White that he would dress up as a girl if they won the last game that would put Novice B white into the quarter finals. The coach made true on his promise at the Richmond Arena for the fourth game of the first round of the finals.. Nice job. Nice look Roger.
Richmond Novice B Blue Team Finalist in Russell Tournament?
On January 23rd , the Richmond Novice B Blue team made their way to Russell for a tournament. Our first game was on Saturday against Russell. The kids got off to a slow start in the first period but turned it on in the second half of the 1st and the rest of the game. This resulted in a 9 – 0 win for Richmond with Tyler Ayotte getting the POG award with a hat trick and 2 assists. The second game was on Sunday against Cumberland B where the kids again played with confidence and as team. This resulted in a 9 – 2 win over Cumberland B with Shane Beresford getting the POG award for his 2 goals and 2 assists. These two wins secured second place for us, going into the semi-finals where we faced Cumberland again who finished the round robin in 3rd spot. The team was very excited about this match up and that excitement was carried onto the ice. This resulted in a 10 – 0 win for Richmond with Kayle Osborne receiving the POG award with her second shutout of the tournament. The kids had a 30 minute break and were back on the ice for Championship game against St-Isidore. The kids got off to a great start but then started running out of energy fast, resulting in a 7 -1 loss with Braydon Thomas getting the POG award. But the coaching staff and parents were very proud of the kids for not giving up and battling to the very end of the game. The success of this tournament is result of the kids playing as a team and having fun.
Congradulations Richmond Novice B Blue for this excellent performance!!! Also Thanks to Russell Minor Hockey for putting on a great tournament!!
